Upcoming New Member Classes: September 25 and December 4.

 SIX REASONS to JOIN TVPC:

1.  A church family helps you develop SPIRITUALLY.
"As each part does its special work, it helps the other parts grow,
so that the whole body is healthy and growing and
full of love." Ephesians 4: 16

2.  A church family moves you out of SELF-CENTERED ISOLATION.
The biblical example shows us that though Jesus calls individuals into discipleship, he also calls them into fellowship in a faith community.

3.    You will share in GOD’S MISSION in the world.
"He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good works he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing."
Ephesians 2: 10

 4.  A church family will KEEP YOU ACCOUNTABLE.
The New Testament places a major emphasis on the need for Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you’re not committed to any specific church family.

  5.  A church family identifies you as a BELIEVER in Jesus Christ.
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." John 13: 35

   6.    The Body of Christ NEEDS YOU.
"A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means for helping the entire church."
1 Corinthians 12:7

MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

At TVPC we never ask our members to do more than the Bible clearly teaches; we only expect what the Bible expects every Christian to do. These responsibilities fall into three primary categories:

1. COMMITMENT TO CHRIST

By praying and studying Scripture and the faith of the Christian Church
By seeking to live a Christ-like life
By living responsibly in your personal, family, vocational, political, cultural, and social relationships

2. COMMITMENT TO THE VILLAGE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH COMMUNITY

By taking part in the common life and worship of the church.
By seeking genuine Christian fellowship in a group or class, and acting in love toward other members.
By supporting the work of the church through the giving of talents, time, and financial support.
By participating in the governing responsibilities of the church

3. COMMITMENT TO OTHERS

By proclaiming the good news
By developing a servant’s heart and discovering your gifts and talents
By working with the pastors, elders and deacons of this church
By working in the world for peace, justice, freedom and equality
